Kerala Kalamandalam is a Deemed University for Art & Culture under Dept. of
Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Kerala. Established in 1930 to preserve and promote
classical performance traditions of Kerala, we are engaged in training and practice
of Kathakali, Kutiyattam, Mohiniyattam, Thullal and allied art forms of Kerala.
Kalamandalam is a rare institution that follow the ancient ‘Gurukula’ system of oneto-one teaching, to carve out an artiste.
Spread over a sprawling 35 acres of verdant campus laced by the majestic river Nila
in the central Kerala, Kalamandalam is a sanctuary where art, culture and nature are
in co-existence to play the symphony of antiquity, authenticity, rarity and beauty.
